In our post-internet era where social media has become the main source of universal news, as a society we have become accustomed to the twisted and contorted reality of media applications platforms. These visual and textual outputs cannot be trusted as factual!

Constantly bombarded with imagery and news that is fundamentally nonsensical means that messages and accounts of great significance are lost amongst the sea of immaterial.

Super Big, Super Small addresses the irony of this reality and uses humour as a means to bringing light to this somewhat very real but dystopian actuality.

Through the use of dichromatic text and image, the installation forces its viewer to see the truth of our modern times in plain sight and invites them to laugh in its irony.

With indifferent news from recent times enhanced substantially in scale, juxtaposed with meaningful news which is diminished in scale, the installation visually and conceptually portrays the current concerns and impact of social media on art and our culture.

We invite the audience to participate in this immersive installation by sharing their own accounts and news through text and image, giving them the chance to install their creations in the gallery. Therefore, actively displaying the subjective nature of what is important news and what is not.
